Hi Paul, I really enjoyed the trip on White Manta. We saw Hammerheads, not the big school, but a nice and long interaction with 1. Also Eagle rays, Manta, White tip. Really enjoy the reef, quite colorful with very nice seafans. LOB was very well organized, we were around 20 divers and it didn’t appear as crowded. Instructors were really professional, I can see a real difference from my last LOB in Maldives. The crew was really friendly and helpful, most of them were Thai. Food was really amazing also, thai, fish, crabs etc The boat is really spacious and really appreciate to have some space in the bedroom. For sure I will go diving again with white Manta and may try the sister black manta. Have a nice day, Thanks Sabrina

White Manta Liveaboard

Built in 2011 this new steel hulled liveaboard is IMO certified and will carry her guests in style. In 2013 White Manta will be diving Layang Layang in April and May, departing from Kota Kinabalu. In 2012 they saw Hammerhead sharks on every trip! There are several cabin options with twin, triple and four share configurations.

The spacious en-suite cabins on the main and upper decks have individually controlled AC and large windows that can be opened. There are twin and double bed cabins available. Standard cabins on the lower deck have shared bathroom but have their own wash basin. They have portholes. Cabins are cleaned daily.

36m length, 7.5m beam 2 x Cummins 700 hp diesel engines. Cruising speed: 10 knots. Water maker 4000 litres per day. Nitrox available on board. 2 x 5.8m RIB tenders with 40hp outboards. Full safety equipment including GPS, sounder, plotter, radar, epirb, ssb radio, sat phone, VHS radio, 3 x 20 man life raft. Asian and European Food

White Manta Layang Layang Itinerary:

Day 1. 2pm ‐ Sail from Sutra Harbour marina to Layang Layang.
Day 2. (4 dives) 8am Navy clearance at Layang Layang then 4 dives at The Point, Shark Cave, Gorgonian Forest, Crack Reef.
Day 3. (3 dives) 2 morning dives at Dallas Reef then sail back to Layang Layang for a dusk dive and for overnight mooring.
Day 4. (4 dives) Morning dive at Dogtooth Lair, then sail to Mariveles Reef for 2 dives. Then back to Layang Layang for late afternoon or night dive.
Day 5. (3 dives) 3 different dives around Layang Layang. Wrasse Strip or The Point for more sharks, Snapper's ledge, Valley. 3pm ‐ Sail overnight to Usukan wreck
Day 6. (3‐4 dives) World War 2 wreck dive Usuakan Wreck. 3‐4 wreck dives and return to harbour by ~8pm. Dinner is serve onboard. Some people may want to check KK nightlife.
Day 7. 8am ‐ 12pm ‐ breakfast & farewells, then disembark the boat.
